DJ BoBo

René Peter Baumann (born January 5, 1968, in Kölliken, Aargau) is a Swiss singer, rapper, dancer, composer, and music producer, known by his stage name DJ BoBo. From the so-called Eurodance era, DJ BoBo is one of the few artists who still successfully releases albums, and with 15 million records sold, he ranks among the most successful musicians in this genre alongside artists like Cascada. For this reason, he is affectionately referred to by fans as the 'King of Dance,' although in recent times he has incorporated more elements from pop and rock into his songs. DJ BoBo gained fame with a blend of pop and dancefloor music. His stage name is derived from Bobo, the king of escape, as he used the name BoBo as a graffiti tag from that context.
