Patti Smith

Patricia Lee "Patti" Smith (born December 30, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American poet, punk and rock musician, singer-songwriter, photographer, and painter. She is regarded as the "Godmother of Punk" and gained prominence particularly for the song "Because the Night," co-written with Bruce Springsteen.
