Robert Peter "Robbie" Williams (born February 13, 1974, in Stoke-on-Trent) is a British singer and songwriter. He rose to fame in 1990 as a member of the boy band Take That and has enjoyed a successful solo career since his departure in 1995, with hits like "Angels," "Let Me Entertain You," "Feel," and "Eternity/The Road to Mandalay." His records have sold over 77 million copies worldwide. He has won 18 BRIT Awards, more than any other British artist, and in 2006, he set a Guinness World Record for selling 1.6 million tickets in a single day for his world tour, the Close Encounters Tour.
