The Piece: Plot and Themes
Temple singer Leila is at the center of a fateful triangle between the leader of the pearl fishers, Zurga, and his childhood friend, Nadir. The opera explores the conflicts between love and friendship, as well as duty and passion. Inspired by Verdi and Gounod, Bizet creates a work with “The Pearl Fishers” that reflects his quest for a unique musical style.
Production and Performance
The performance will be presented in French with German surtitles. The grand choral scenes and diverse music captivate the audience. The direction and ensemble promise a gripping presentation that brings the dramatic plot to life.

Participation in the Touch Tour is free with the purchase of a ticket for the performance, but prior registration is required.
