Range: Decor, Tableware, and Mugs – Favorite Pieces from the Store

The DEPOT store at Maximilianstraße 62 stands for exactly what the brand has been known for years: versatile home accessories that quickly make an impact and enhance any decor with minimal effort. Particularly in demand are decorative home accents – from vases, candles, and lanterns to cushions, blankets, and decorative bowls, as well as wall art and small furniture pieces. From the customer's perspective, tableware is one of the highlights on-site: plates, bowls, and serving platters from different series can be combined, allowing you to set your table appropriately for both everyday use and special occasions. The offering is complemented by mugs and cups – whether in timeless solid colors, with graphic patterns, or seasonally inspired motifs. Conveniently, many of these series are designed to be modular; individual pieces can be purchased later if you want to expand spontaneously or replace broken items. You will also find storage solutions, baskets, and boxes in the store, which help with sorting and organizing without compromising on aesthetics. Seasonal accents – for example, spring-themed decor elements, autumnal natural materials, or winter arrangements – are regularly curated anew. This makes repeated visits to the store worthwhile, as the product display changes significantly throughout the year. Customers who like to gather impressions often use the typical mood tables found in retail: Pre-decorated arrangements show how products work together and make selection easier. Practical additions include room fragrances and scented candles offered under the company's own brand ipuro. For gifts, you can quickly find suitable small items: decorative tealight holders, high-quality picture frames, table runners, napkins, and gift packaging – ideal when you need a thoughtful gesture on short notice. If you have questions, the team in the store is happy to help, for example, regarding the availability of specific colors or sizes, the care of textiles, or reordering popular series through the online shop. This way, inspiration and concrete solutions for the home can be successfully combined.

Directions and Parking near Maximilianstraße 62

Maximilianstraße is one of the central axes of Bayreuth's city center. If you are arriving by car, there are several easily accessible parking options within walking distance of the store. Particularly convenient is parking at the Rotmain Center: Here, over 1,200 parking spaces are available in the parking garage and underground garage, with clearly designated rates for short-term parking and attractive flat rates in the evening or on Sundays. The center is centrally located, allowing you to combine your shopping at DEPOT with other errands. Also close to the pedestrian zone is the underground garage Rathaus/Kanalstraße (address: Kanalstraße 13). It is open continuously, offers designated short-term parking rates, and is well-suited for visits to the city center. Useful for planning: The Bayreuth public utilities provide clear information on the number of parking spaces, opening hours, and rates for parking garages and lots – including notes on payment options such as cash, debit card, or common credit cards. If you prefer to travel by bus, you benefit from short distances between bus stops in the city center and Maximilianstraße. The location is also practical for cyclists, as there are several bike parking options along the routes through the city center; during busier visitor periods, it is advisable to allow enough time for parking searches, especially on Saturdays and during the pre-Christmas season. For people with limited mobility, it may be useful to inquire in advance about designated disabled parking spaces in the mentioned parking garages. In general, it is worth noting that since Maximilianstraße is partially designated as a pedestrian zone and events in the city center can temporarily lead to traffic changes, a quick look at current notices from the city or parking garage operators is advisable before heading out. This way, you arrive relaxed, reach the store in just a few minutes on foot, and can focus entirely on selecting your new home accessories.

Order Online and Click & Collect – This is How It Works with DEPOT Online

Many customers combine their visit to the Bayreuth store with the convenience of online shopping. The DEPOT online shop offers the opportunity to preview products, check availability, and choose delivery options. Particularly practical is Click & Collect: You order online and have the goods delivered free of shipping costs to your desired store – including Bayreuth. For decor items, DEPOT generally states a preparation time of about two to four days. This is ideal if you have a specific item in mind and want to ensure it is available in time, for example, for a celebration, a visit, or a small makeover at home. This way, you avoid unnecessary trips and can flexibly integrate your pickup appointment into your daily routine. If you want to make a decision more quickly, you benefit from the tactile experience in the store: touching materials, seeing colors in person, checking size ratios – all of this makes it easier to compare with your own home. Combinations often present themselves: You discover a series in the store, select the basic elements on-site, and then online add further variants or sizes. If you have questions about pickup, assigning the order to the store, or exchange options, the team in the store is there to help. When purchasing online, make sure to select the correct pickup store and keep an eye on your notifications (email/SMS, depending on the chosen option); this way, you will know as soon as the goods are ready for pickup. Gift purchases can also be well organized in this way: order online, pick up in Bayreuth, add nice packaging on-site – and a personalized gift is ready. Click & Collect thus combines speed, cost transparency (no shipping costs to the store), and the security of checking everything again at pickup.

Opening Hours, On-Site Service, and Photos of the Store

To make your visit well-planned, it is worth checking the typical opening hours: For Bayreuth, current retailer overviews usually state Monday to Saturday from 09:30 to 19:00. Since opening hours can change on public holidays or seasonally (for example, during the Advent season), it is advisable to do a quick check on a current retailer page or the central shop page beforehand. The store is located in a busy city center area; thus, accessibility is good, and those who come during peak times usually find suitable parking options in the nearby Rotmain Center or in the underground garage Rathaus/Kanalstraße. On-site, the staff is happy to assist you – for example, if you are looking for a specific color variant, are unsure about sizes, or want to reorder a series. Many customers orient themselves in their selection based on photos and decor ideas: Inspiration is provided by both the displayed arrangements in the store and the product and theme images in the online shop. If you want to redesign your home specifically, it is advisable to take measurements before your visit and bring photos of the room on your smartphone; this way, it is easier to assess on-site which colors, proportions, and materials harmonize. For small gifts and presents, typical “quick” categories are available – such as scented candles, picture frames, napkins, trays, drinking glasses, or textiles like table runners and cushion covers. For sensitive surfaces, it is worth asking for care instructions or material compositions. The store is also a good address for seasonal decorations: Especially during the pre-Christmas season and in spring, focal themes with matching color worlds are set up, allowing you to create complete looks. If you use a digital shopping list, you can note product names or series designations on-site and later check online whether complementary items are available.

Seasonal Highlights: Christmas Ornaments and Gift Ideas

A particular focus at DEPOT is traditionally on seasonal assortments, and this is also reflected in Bayreuth. During the Christmas season, a variety of ornament collections, tree toppers, fairy lights, wreaths, and figures are available – in different sizes, colors, and materials, from classic glass to modern, shatterproof variants to velvety surfaces or metallic effects. Many customers opt for a color theme per season, such as natural tones with wood and linen, elegant gold accents, or cool winter palettes in silver and blue. You will also find suitable additions like table decor, napkins, candlesticks, and Advent arrangements. Conveniently, those who plan early can use Click & Collect for popular ornament series or limited colors; this way, you secure your desired theme in time. Even outside the festive season, the store offers seasonal inspiration – for example, spring-themed floral decor for Easter, maritime motifs for summer, or earthy tones with natural materials for autumn. Gift ideas for birthdays, housewarmings, and other occasions can be quickly found on the shelves: pretty mug sets, stylish vase combinations, tealight holders, trays, picture frames, or fragrant sets. If you are looking for the perfect “finish,” you will find gift wrap, ribbons, and cards in coordinated series. Tips for selection: Consider the style in which the recipient lives (Scandinavian, classic, colorful, minimalist) and combine a main product (e.g., a vase) with two complementary small items (e.g., candles and decorative stones) to create a rounded set. If you pre-sort online, you can create wish lists before your store visit and check in the store how colors and materials look. Thanks to the central location of the store, gift shopping can also be easily combined with other errands in the city center.

About the DEPOT Brand and Current Developments

The brand is backed by Gries Deco Company (GDC) based in Niedernberg. The company operates a branch network for home accessories and small furniture in Germany and additionally sells room fragrances under the ipuro brand. In the recent company history, important decisions have been made: In July 2024, the Aschaffenburg District Court approved a protective shield procedure for Gries Deco Company under German law. Media reports have mentioned adjustments to branches and closures of individual locations; at the same time, the ongoing operation of many branches has been maintained while the company worked on a reorganization. In Switzerland, bankruptcy proceedings for the local company were initiated in early 2025; in Austria, procedures for restructuring or taking over parts of the locations were underway. For customers in Germany, this primarily meant: checking daily whether a specific branch is open, as regional decisions are possible. Therefore, it is advisable to do a quick online check of the retailer page with the address Maximilianstraße 62 and the current opening hours before heading out to Bayreuth. Regardless of the legal and organizational developments, the assortment in the stores continues to show the usual seasonal rhythm: thematic color worlds, changing table and living trends, and practical basics. For planned purchases (such as complete tableware sets or larger decor projects), Click & Collect with free delivery to the desired store is a reliable option. If you rely on photographic material for your own planning, you will find inspiration in the online shop and in the displayed theme worlds in the store. Overall, DEPOT remains an accessible point of contact for many customers to enhance their homes with a manageable budget and minimal effort – with the Bayreuth store as a centrally located touchpoint in the region.

We bought four candles for just under €32 and then asked if our little daughter could use the restroom. She wasn't allowed because it's only for employees. We were told to go somewhere else. But they're happy to let you stay and spend your money. Next time we'll order online again. Local retailers are killing themselves.
