Exemplary program points from recent years show the diversity: On September 19, 2025, the format Kerwa, Kren & Komödie was announced in the Kurhaus hall – a whimsical mix of Franconian tradition and entertainment. Guest performances with well-known names are also possible: On October 17, 2025, a comedy night with Angela Ascher was scheduled at the Kurhaus Bischofsgrün. The municipality maintains the event calendar, which is continuously updated and includes events from local clubs as well as guest performances by external organizers. For ticket purchases, it applies: Depending on the organizer, advance sales and box office sales run through different channels – often online through regional ticket portals or directly through the respective organizer. The Touristinfo assists with inquiries about the program, hall occupancy, and advance sales points. Those combining the program with a vacation also benefit from the regional guest card: With it, offers in the Ochsenkopf experience region can be used at a discount or free of charge, a real added value, for example, when traveling to events by bus. Tip: Plan enough lead time for popular formats, as individual dates can sell out quickly, and check for possible detours or parking bans around the building on the day of the event – for large events, the municipality informs about traffic management and alternative parking spaces.
Directions and Parking at the Kurhaus Bischofsgrün
Due to its location in the town center, the Kurhaus is easy to find: Bischofsgrün is located on the federal highway 303 between Ochsenkopf and Schneeberg – reference points that are present on every map of the Fichtelgebirge. Those coming from the direction of Bayreuth or Wunsiedel follow the signs to the center; from there, it is only a few minutes to Jägerstraße. Parking is available directly at the Kurhaus, including designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, and there are three disabled parking spaces in the nearby area. For visitors with mobility impairments, a barrier-free toilet is also accessible around the clock with a Euro key on Dr.-Herrmann-Meyer-Straße. During heavily attended events, there may be temporary traffic restrictions and parking bans directly at the Kurhaus. In such cases, the municipality publishes notices and refers to alternative parking spaces, for example, at the parking lot near the Catholic Church in the area of Rangenweg. Those wishing to travel ecologically can use public transport: With the guest card, travel on the regional bus line in the Ochsenkopf region is free, allowing you to conveniently reach Bischofsgrün from neighboring towns like Fichtelberg, Mehlmeisel, or Warmensteinach. From the bus stops in the center, a short, level path leads to the Kurhaus. Cyclists can also comfortably reach the building via local routes and benefit from the short distances in the town. Particularly helpful for visitors is the barrier-free toilet on Dr.-Herrmann-Meyer-Straße, which is accessible around the clock with a Euro key. Parking directly at the house facilitates access, and designated disabled parking spaces are available in the nearby area. In terms of events, the building offers a spacious foyer suitable for receptions, exhibitions, or break areas, as well as a divisible hall with capacities of up to 400 people. Whether row seating for lectures, banquet for celebrations, or mixed forms for fairs – the room concept is flexible. A small hall for about 40 people complements the portfolio for workshops, club evenings, or small arts. Culinary services can be organized as catering depending on the event. Additionally, the Kurhaus features a cozy restaurant called Grund 74 with around 40 seats and two bowling lanes with a separate bowling lounge – ideal for social programs and club celebrations. Besides the Touristinfo, other facilities can be found in the building, such as a practice for physiotherapy and fitness; this makes the Kurhaus a multifunctional meeting point in the town. Those dependent on a specific hall occupancy or a special arrangement should clarify this early with the organizer; depending on the format, various hall plans and seating tests are available.
Town Hall and Registry Office in the Same Building: Paths, Opening Hours, Concerns
A major advantage of the location: In the Kurhaus, in addition to the Spa and Tourist Information, the municipal administration (Town Hall) and the registry office are also housed. Therefore, the paths are short if you want to combine official matters with tourist inquiries – from registering a wedding to inquiries about local statutes to room bookings in the Kurhaus. The municipality of Bischofsgrün is regularly open on Mondays to Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM; additional appointments are possible by arrangement. Those planning an event can inquire about room usage, fees, fire protection regulations, and contacts in the building. For weddings, the combination of the registry office in the building and event rooms offers attractive options for ceremonies with subsequent celebrations on-site; the foyer and the small hall are suitable for receptions in a family setting, while the large hall offers enough space for larger gatherings. Club life and citizen services also benefit from this constellation: Meetings, town hall meetings, or cultural evenings can be centrally organized in the Kurhaus, with the Touristinfo supporting communication and visitor information. This creates a reliable hub for service, culture, and administration – a unique feature that only a few places offer in this compactness.
Photos, Impressions, and Tips for Your Visit to Bischofsgrün
Those wanting to gain a first impression of the Kurhaus and the Touristinfo can find images of the rooms, the exterior view, and selected events on the official municipal pages as well as the POI pages of the experience region. On-site, a short detour to the spa park and the town center is worthwhile: Both are within walking distance and offer flower beds, walking paths, and small events depending on the season. Bischofsgrün itself is known as a health resort in northern Bavaria and has a charming peculiarity as a snowman village: In winter, the town becomes a stage with its famous snowman festival, while in summer, hiking trails and themed paths – such as the fairy tale hiking trail and the forest adventure trail at Ochsenkopf with stations like xylophone, tree phone, seepage test, or animal long jump pit – attract families and nature lovers. Those wishing to combine culture with nature should plan a concert or comedy night at the Kurhaus and use the cable cars at Ochsenkopf during the day, as well as the cycling and hiking trails or the viewpoints between Schneeberg and Weißer Main. Convenient for guests without a car: With the guest card, selected regional bus lines in the Ochsenkopf region can be used free of charge; this allows you to easily travel between Bischofsgrün, Fichtelberg, Mehlmeisel, and Warmensteinach to your excursion destinations. For groups, it is advisable to inquire about guided tours through the Touristinfo – from historical tours to thematic tours. When sharing photos, use the official hashtag of the town; many impressions from the region appear in the municipality's social media hubs. And if you are looking for culinary variety during your visit: The gastronomy in the town covers everything from Franconian classics to modern cuisine – sometimes even with Bischofsgrün beers that set regional accents. This creates a well-rounded stay, where the Touristinfo in the Kurhaus serves as a reliable base: for answers to spontaneous questions, for ticket and program information, and for the connecting idea of experiencing culture and nature in the Fichtelgebirge in a relaxed manner.
Tickets, Seating Plan, and Booking Tips for Events
The ticket purchase for events in the Kurhaus Bischofsgrün is determined by the respective organizer. Regional advance sales platforms are often used; sometimes, remaining tickets are available at the box office. The Touristinfo provides neutral advice on the channels communicated, states deadlines, and informs about entry times. For planning-secure evenings, it is advisable to purchase tickets in advance and arrive on time, especially if a cloakroom or bag check is provided. Seating plans vary depending on the format: Row seating is common for comedy and lectures, while a banquet variant is used for festive occasions or club evenings. The divisible hall allows for intermediate solutions, where, for example, a stage with a central sightline is supplemented by side rows. Those dependent on specific seats can ask the organizer whether there are numbered tickets or if free seating applies. The small hall with about 40 seats is predestined for workshops or readings; it is worth coordinating group seats early. For exhibitors, the foyer offers good sightlines, power, and flexible display areas; exact dimensions and load limits are provided by the administration upon request. For deliveries, it is advisable to clarify the entry situation and possible parking bans on the day of the event in advance. Those planning a club meeting, reception, or private celebration after a successful evening can formally apply for room usage at the Town Hall; the fee schedule of the Kurhaus regulates conditions, additional rooms such as the bowling lanes, and the use of catering. Tip for external guests: Coordinate the return trip with the last departures of public transport or factor in the walking distance to your accommodation – in Bischofsgrün, many houses are only a few minutes' walk away.

An elevator provides barrier-free access to all floors; within the building, there is a reading corner, a public toilet, and additional service offerings. For event organizers, usage and fee regulations are available that definitively regulate seating variants, technical and room usage. For questions about accessibility, delivery zones, or equipment, the Touristinfo provides concrete information – from pathways to elevator access to notes on barrier-free seating rows.
The central phone number of the municipal administration is +49 9276 92609 0, and the email address is gemeindeverwaltung@bischofsgruen.bayern.de.

A wonderful little tourist town. Many restaurants. There is a shop, a pharmacy, a school, a clinic. There is something to see: a valley of fairy tales, trails with various "interesting things" for children: a xylophone, water filtration, a "green classroom", etc. New lifts to Oxenkopf, Rollebahn, ski rental, sledges, there is a ski school. A farm with lamps and horses. The picturesque town of the Snowman) yes, yes - this is where the carnival in honor of the Snowman Jacob takes place)

Last Sunday, glorious winter weather...almost millions of people were out and about...including in Bischofsgrün. Finding a public toilet was difficult. The local tourist office offered one. Unfortunately, all the toilets were dirtier than motorway service station toilets! Toilet paper or paper towels...not a chance. Dear tourist office, the municipality earns a lot of money from such visitor requests. Visitors can expect the toilets to be cleaned several times and the paper replenished!
