“Hof - right at the top of Bavaria” is what the locals like to say about their city – and this also applies to enjoyment! The city of Hof has once again been awarded the title of “Culinary Destination 2024” by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Tourism, officially making it one of the best culinary destinations in Bavaria.
Hof is known for its excellent bakeries and butcher shops, delightful patisseries, and the Hof beer is truly exceptional. The many varieties of bratwurst, ham, and sausages, as well as various pastries and baked goods, fish, fruits, and cheese specialties are all of outstanding quality.
In addition to the finely spiced Hof beef sausage, which has even made it into the European register of regional specialties, there’s the Hof schnitzel, Hof variety, liver cheese, Schwaas, Aus’ zogene, and many other Hof delights. You will learn about these during a culinary city walk with a culinary ambassador from the Upper Franconia region. You can sample both savory and sweet treats.
