Hof Winter Festival 2026: Grand Celebration at Market Square with Over 10,000 Visitors Expected

The traditional Hof Winter Festival transforms the market square into a winter wonderland next weekend. Organizers expect over 10,000 visitors to Upper Franconia's largest winter event.

A Festival for the Entire City

On Saturday, February 15th, 2026, it's that time again: The Hof Market Square transforms for the 28th time into a winter festival area. From 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, visitors can expect a diverse program of live music, culinary highlights, and traditional winter attractions.

"We have put together a very special program this year," says Mayor Eva Doehla. "The Winter Festival is more than just an event – it's a piece of Hof's identity that brings people of all generations together."

Five Bands on the Main Stage

The musical program features a diverse lineup. The traditional Hof Brass Band kicks off at 2:30 PM with a colorful repertoire of marches and modern interpretations. Starting at 4:00 PM, the Saale City Musicians take over with folk music.

In the afternoon, "Rock am Turm" provides rhythmic sounds starting at 5:30 PM. The Acoustic Duo Saaleblick presents soulful ballads and original compositions from 7:00 PM. The finale at 8:30 PM features the popular cover band "Nordlicht" with rock and pop classics.

Winter Market with Regional Specialties

Over 30 market stalls offer a wide selection of regional products. From handcrafted items to warm winter clothing to culinary delicacies – the winter market covers all aspects. Particularly popular are the stalls with Hof beer, hearty bratwurst, and sweet pastries.

Culinary Highlights:

• Meinel Brewery Mulled Wine Stand – classic mulled wine and winter variations with amaretto or rum
• Hof Bratwurst Stand – original Hof bratwurst from charcoal grill
• Raclette Hut – freshly prepared cheese with side dishes
• Bauer Family Sweets Stand – roasted almonds, chocolate apples, and gingerbread
• Saale Fish Fry – fresh trout and salmon rolls

Family Program and Children's Attractions

For younger visitors, the organizing team has prepared an extensive program. A dedicated children's area with various activities is available from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Children's Program in Detail:

• 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Craft workshops with winter motifs
• 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Professional face painting
• 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Castle-shaped bouncy castle
• 4:00 PM: Puppet theater "The Winter King" (Duration: 30 minutes)
